How we verify
Most of our stories come from official statements and a news agency. This page explains what we check and what we do not claim.
Last reviewed ·
In brief
- We confirm that a statement comes from the body named on it.
- We do not present an official statement as independently confirmed.
- We update stories when the source updates or corrects its information.
Official statements
We take statements only from the official channels of the bodies that issue them, such as the Israel Police, the IDF and the Prime Minister's Office. The story says who issued the statement. It does not say that we confirmed the facts ourselves.
Wire stories
Stories from the TPS news agency are credited to TPS and link to the original report. The agency is responsible for its own reporting.
Translations
Names in translated statements are checked against the Hebrew original before publication. Translated editions link to the English article they were translated from.
After publication
When a source updates or corrects its information, we update the story. Corrections follow our corrections policy.
If you think a fact in a story is wrong, write to info@israel.fm with the article's address and your source.
