Jerusalem, 6 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israel’s National Planning and Building Council approved an amendment to National Outline Plan 1/19 on Tuesday, easing planning and licensing regulations for national Energy Storage facilities, officials announced.
Chaired by Benni Arbib alongside the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the regulatory overhaul streamlines permitting in industrial zones, agricultural reservoirs, and solar installations. The initiative aims to accelerate renewable energy integration, stabilize grid frequency, and accommodate rising electricity consumption driven by Electric Vehicle adoption.
The updated provisions also refine safety approval protocols with the Fire and Rescue Authority and standardize high-voltage grid connection thresholds. The draft regulations have been submitted for public review before final implementation across infrastructure sectors.
