Jerusalem, 7 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported a modest year-on-year drop in visitor numbers for August 2026. Total visitor arrivals fell to 117,600, down from 119,600 in August 2025 — a decline of about 1.7%.

Tourist arrivals specifically, a subset of visitors that excludes some short-term or non-leisure entries, also dipped, falling to 115,900 from 118,200 the previous year, a decrease of roughly 1.9%.

The figures offer a snapshot of Israel’s tourism sector, which has faced fluctuating demand tied to regional security conditions and broader economic trends affecting travel to the region.
