Jerusalem, 2 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Special repatriation flights planned to bring Israelis stranded in Dubai back to Israel have been delayed, Israel’s Transportation Ministry announced Friday.

However, El Al announced it was forced to cancel its first Rescue Flights (LY974-1, LY972), after the UAE revoked landing approval for Israeli carriers entirely. This followed failed overnight talks between senior Israeli and Emirati officials.

Earlier, the ministry said Israeli airlines were expected to begin operating Flights From Dubai to Israel on October 2. Still, security authorities require additional time to complete preparations and coordination needed to safely operate the flights. As a result, the departure of the repatriation flights will be delayed.

The Transportation Ministry said it is continuing to coordinate with relevant authorities in Israel and abroad to enable the flights to begin as soon as possible.

No new departure time was immediately announced for the delayed rescue flights.
