Jerusalem, 15 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Representatives of Iran, Turkey, Kuwait, Pakistan and the Palestinian Authority walked out during Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s address at the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Thursday.
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani remained in the hall and listened to the speech, as did representatives of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
The gathering brought together officials from countries that have no diplomatic relations with Israel, alongside regional and Asian leaders.
Herzog arrived in Azerbaijan on Wednesday for a day-and-a-half visit, during which he met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and strategic cooperation.
He also met Bahrain’s foreign minister to discuss regional security and the Abraham Accords.
