Jerusalem, 28 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar held a diplomatic call with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, calling Austria “a friend of Israel” and emphasizing that ties between both nations remain “important to us.”
Sa’ar detailed Israel’s positions on key regional developments, highlighting a wave of Palestinian terrorism in Judea and Samaria. He cited recent attacks that killed Netanel Shukrun, a father of six, and critically injured Neria Leiter, son of Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S.
The foreign minister also voiced Israel’s support for Austria’s upcoming term on the UN Security Council, emphasizing that Vienna’s role requires closer diplomatic cooperation and regular information sharing between the two partner nations.
