Jerusalem, 28 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — VIENNA — Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger reaffirmed strong ties with Israel on Monday following talks with Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa’ar, emphasizing that “relations between Austria and Israel are close and characterized by mutual trust.”
Meinl-Reisinger noted that this foundation allows both nations to openly discuss critical issues. Looking ahead to Austria’s upcoming term on the UN Security Council, she stated Vienna will assume responsibility by defending Israel’s right to exist and security while upholding international law.
The foreign minister emphasized that Austria’s primary objective remains establishing long-term regional stability, supporting a framework where Israel and a Palestinian state can live securely side by side in peace.
