DRC to Relocate Embassy to Jerusalem, Becoming 11th Country to Do So
The Democratic Republic of the Congo will move its embassy to Jerusalem, joining 10 other nations, following talks between PM Netanyahu and President.
Jerusalem, 3 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Following a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Democratic Republic of the Congo President Félix Tshisekedi in Jerusalem on September 1, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and his DRC counterpart, Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, held a working meeting to advance the relocation of the DRC Embassy to Jerusalem and the opening of an Israeli Embassy in Kinshasa.
The move is expected to make the DRC the 11th country to establish its embassy in Jerusalem, part of an ongoing push led by Sa’ar to relocate more embassies to Israel’s capital. Nauru is set to open an embassy in Jerusalem next week, followed by Colombia in October.
