Sorek-A Desalination Plant Resumes Operations After Algae Disruptions

Jerusalem, 3 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Sorek-A desalination plant south of Tel Aviv has resumed operations, according to Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Israel Water Authority.

Israel’s desalination plants have been partially shut down due to increasing levels of algae clogging their filters.
