TPS: Israel Accuses Iran of Nuclear Non-Compliance at IAEA General Conference in Vienna
At the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, Israel's Moshe Edri accused Iran of nuclear non-compliance and regional destabilization, citing barred inspectors.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Atomic Energy Commission Director General Moshe Edri addressed the IAEA’s 70th General Conference in Vienna, accusing Iran of destabilizing the region through threats against Israel, attacks on neighboring countries and American forces, and support for proxies including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.
Edri cited an IAEA Board of Governors decision from roughly a year ago finding Iran non-compliant with its safeguards obligations, and noted Iran has barred inspectors from certain nuclear facilities for over a year, prompting a referral to the UN Security Council.
He also referenced an IAEA report on Syria’s covert nuclear program under the former Assad regime, including a reactor at Deir ez-Zor, arguing it validated Israel’s past actions against the site.
