Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) ordered the demolition of two vehicle “chop shops” in the Palestinian town of Dahariya, located near Hebron. Chop shops are where stolen vehicles are taken to de dismantled so their parts can be sold separately.

Officials said the two chop shops represent a “primary link in the vehicle theft chain aimed at selling stolen parts.”

Forces on the ground located numerous vehicle parts suspected of being stolen, along with defaced vehicle chassis. Inspections found the locations had been used extensively and over an extended period for trading in stolen vehicles and parts, leading to the decision to demolish the two declared chop shops and declare an additional one.
