Jerusalem, 3 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Three former players and an actress were arrested and questioned Thursday on suspicion of fixing games in Israel’s Women’s Premier League and illegal gambling, police said Thursday.
The months-long investigation centers on suspicions that games were manipulated in exchange for payments.
Police suspect an organized gambling operation sought to influence game results and generate profits. One of those detained is the son of a well-known figure in Israeli soccer.
