Negev resident arrested on suspicion of inciting terrorism and identifying with Hamas. As part of a joint investigation by the Central Unit of the Southern District of the Israel Police and the General Security Service, the activity of a resident of the town of Segev Shalom, Dief Allah Abu Regila, 19, was exposed. He is suspected of publishing content inciting terrorism and expressing identification and support for the Hamas terrorist organization. As part of an operational activity by the counter-terrorism fighters of the Southern National Guard in the Border Police, in cooperation with detectives from the Segev Shalom station, the suspect was arrested about a month ago in the town of Segev Shalom and transferred for investigation. The investigation revealed that during 2026, the suspect shared numerous extremist contents on social media identified with the terrorist organization, which allegedly included incitement, praise, and support for acts of violence and terrorism, as well as expressions of identification with the terrorist organization. Among other things, the suspect included in his publications pictures and videos of terrorists, documentation from the murderous terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, praise for terrorists and Hamas leaders, content identified with the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, glorification of attacks carried out in Israel, as well as explicit calls for acts of violence and terrorism. At the end of the investigation, the Southern District Prosecutor’s Office today filed an indictment against the suspect for security offenses of incitement to terrorism and expressing identification with a terrorist organization.
