Israeli Police Find Weapons, Ammunition Hidden Inside Olive Tree
Israeli Border Police found a cache of weapons and ammunition, including IDF demolition blocks and numerous rounds, hidden inside an olive tree in Yarka.
Jerusalem, 22 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Border Police officers uncovered a cache of weapons and ammunition concealed in an olive tree in the northern Israeli town of Yarka, police said Tuesday.
During a crackdown on illegal weapons before Yom Kippur, officers spotted what appeared to be a military blasting fuse. On closer inspection, they found two Israel Defense Force demolition blocks, a silencer, 5.56mm and 9mm ammunition, weapon parts and four magazines. Officers later found two IDF ammunition crates containing 7.62mm rounds hidden inside the tree trunk.
The seized items were transferred for further investigation.
