Northern District Special Patrol Unit officers solved a double murder in the Golan Heights – an indictment was filed against a hit squad from a crime organization. In June, a report was received at the dispatch center regarding a shooting at a vehicle in the town of Buq’ata.

As a result of the shooting, two men, residents of Buqata and Horfeish, were pronounced dead. Several suspects were arrested in connection with the murder, but the main suspect in the murder remains at large. In July, during an undercover operation by the YAMAM (National Counter-Terrorism Unit) in the town of Yarka, a masked suspect was identified leaving a business after shooting an employee who was seriously injured. The detectives engaged and arrested the shooter while he was armed with a pistol. During his interrogation, it was revealed that he was the wanted suspect in the double murder in the Golan Heights. This morning, following a complex investigation during which many findings were collected, the Northern District Attorney’s Office will file severe indictments in the Nazareth District Court against three defendants for the double murder, and against the 19-year-old suspect also for the attempted murder in Yarka.
