Jerusalem, 1 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Likud Party attorney Ilan Bombach on Thursday filed a complaint with the Israel Police against retired IDF Col. Miki Kaisari, a former commander of the Navy’s submarine flotilla, over comments attributed to him calling for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to face a firing squad.

According to right-wing media reports, Kaisari repeatedly wrote in WhatsApp groups that Netanyahu was a traitor and should face a firing squad, and shared an AI-generated image depicting Netanyahu alongside Hamas terrorists.

The Likud’s complaint cites a section of Israel’s Penal Law concerning calls or expressions of support for violence when there is a real possibility they could lead to violence.

Kaisari currently chairs an association of former Israeli Navy officers and has continued activities involving the IDF, including lectures and scholarships.
