TPS: Israeli Organized Crime Chief Eran Haya to be Extradited from a Brooklyn Prison
Israeli organized crime chief Eran Haya will be extradited from a Brooklyn prison to Israel to face charges after a New York court rejected his appeals.
Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A New York court ruled Wednesday that Eran Haya, head of an Israeli organized crime family currently held at Brooklyn’s federal Metropolitan Detention Center, will be extradited to Israel.
The court rejected Haya’s arguments about harsh Israeli prison conditions, alleged rights violations, and the legality of his extradition process.
Haya fled Israel nine years ago and was arrested in Malaysia two years ago before being transferred to the U.S., where Israeli authorities recruited two state’s witnesses to incriminate him.
He faces charges in Israel over his alleged role in a bloody feud between his organization and the Musli brothers’ crime group, including alleged involvement in a failed assassination attempt on Eli Musli.
If Haya does not appeal the extradition, he is expected to land in Israel within the week and be arrested by Tel Aviv’s Central Unit and Lahav 433 detectives.
