Israeli Authorities Arrest Father and Son Suspected of Stealing 16 Beehives in Agricultural Crime Bust
Israeli police arrested a father and son for allegedly stealing 16 beehives from Ein Harod and Hogla, recovering them in Megiddo Forest.
Jerusalem, 28 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — MEGIDDO — Israeli police and Ministry of Agriculture inspectors have arrested a 66-year-old man and his 36-year-old son in Wadi Ara for their alleged involvement in stealing 16 beehives from farming communities in Ein Harod and Hogla.
The arrests followed a covert operation led by the Coast Border Police and the Central Enforcement and Investigation Unit (PITZUACH), using advanced tracking technology. Law enforcement located the stolen hives in the Megiddo Forest before raiding the suspects’ home in Musmus-Musheirifa.
All 16 beehives were recovered and returned to agricultural ministry control for verification and restitution. Security forces emphasized that combating agricultural crime remains a priority to protect local farmers’ livelihoods and regional food security.
