Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Two Nazareth residents, ages 23 and 28, were arrested Monday after Northern District police and Border Police uncovered suspected weapons and drugs during a raid on a vacation rental (zimmer) in the city, part of an operation targeting illegal weapons among Nazareth crime organizations.

Acting on a tip about weapons at the site, officers detained the two suspects and found dozens of packaged doses of suspected cocaine and hashish inside the rental, along with a car key.

A search of the nearby vehicle turned up a bag hidden beneath a baby stroller containing a fragmentation grenade and dozens of rounds of ammunition.

Police are expected to request the remand of both suspects Tuesday at the Nof HaGalil-Nazareth Magistrate’s Court. The investigation is ongoing.
