Jerusalem, 10 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police arrested five Palestinians residing in Israel without valid permits After Finding them hidden inside the trunk of a vehicle at the Rantis Crossing, due east of Tel Aviv. The driver, a Jaffa resident in his 20s, is suspected of attempting to smuggle the men into Israel in exchange for payment.
A search of the vehicle turned up thousands of shekels in cash, which police say is linked to the alleged smuggling operation. A court has ordered an extension of the driver’s remand as the investigation continues.
