Jerusalem, 9 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Six suspects, five of them minors, were arrested on suspicion of assaulting and robbing a 29-year-old Eastern Jerusalem resident near the Jaffa Gate Promenade, police said Friday.

The victim, a resident of the Abu Tor neighborhood, was allegedly attacked by several youths who stole his mobile phone and fled. He suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital in light condition.

Police from the David District of the Jerusalem District launched an investigation after receiving a report of the violent robbery. Officers conducted extensive searches and used technological means to trace the suspects’ escape route, leading to the arrest of four minors. The stolen phone was found on one of them.

Further investigative efforts led to the arrest of two additional suspects, one a minor and the other an adult. A court extended the detention of all six suspects until Sunday, October 11, as the investigation continues.
