Jerusalem, 9 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Activists from Yair Golan’s Democrats Party filed a police complaint Thursday night after allegedly being repeatedly attacked by a group of young people at a campaign stand near Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda Market.

According to Israeli media, the assailants punched and spat at the activists, damaged their stand, and stole a mobile phone. The activists said they called police several times, but officers did not leave their vehicle. The group eventually escaped and filed a complaint.

Jerusalem city council member Eran Ben Yehuda, who was among those attacked, accused the government of fueling incitement against his party. He said the party would not be intimidated and planned to return to the same location Friday morning with dozens of activists and elected representatives.
