Central District police arrested 4 overnight for violent attacks on players and fans after a Netanya football match, including smashing vehicle windows.
According to suspicion, during the crowd’s exit from the stadium area, several suspects attacked players and fans of the opposing team. Subsequently, during traffic congestion created on nearby routes, the suspects attacked passengers in vehicles and even smashed the windows of several vehicles. Police forces deployed in the area as part of the game’s security acted immediately to stop the violence and prevent further friction between the sides. In the meantime, during the night, Netanya station officers conducted accelerated investigative actions, using technological means, which led to the identification and arrest of four suspects – two minors and two adults. The two minors were questioned and at the end of a hearing were banned from football matches. The two adult suspects will be brought to court today for a hearing on a request to extend their detention. The investigation is ongoing to prosecute all those involved.
