TPS: Attempt to Smuggle Synthetic Drugs Disguised as Printer Ink Foiled
Israeli police and Tax Authority thwarted a 2kg synthetic drug smuggling attempt from Thailand, disguised as printer ink, arresting a suspect in Yad Binyamin.
Jerusalem, 20 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Police and the Tax Authority intercepted an attempt to smuggle more than two kilograms of synthetic drugs from Thailand, concealed inside liquid packaging labeled as printer ink manufacturing material.
Investigators tracked the parcel to the Yad Binyamin area and arrested a suspect, a resident of Abu Ghosh, as he received the delivery. During questioning, the suspect claimed a relative in Thailand had asked him to accept the package without disclosing its contents.
The seized substances were sent for forensic testing, and a court extended the suspect’s detention to allow the investigation to continue.
