Jerusalem, 4 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Dozens of police and Border Police officers operated in Nazareth overnight Friday after four people were murdered in the city within one day. Ten suspects linked to criminal activity and crime organizations were arrested.
Police seized a handgun, a fragmentation grenade and other weapons.
Some suspects tried to escape but were caught after foot chases.
More than 20 suspects were arrested in Nazareth on Wednesday night, including the brother of one of the murder victims. A court extended their detention on Thursday.
A police spokesperson said that “the internal conflict between local criminal gangs will be met with uncompromising force and determination to protect the safety and well-being of citizens.”
