Jerusalem, 9 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Communications and the Innovation Authority are investing NIS 4 million ($1.3 million) in a new initiative at the Western Negev Technology Center for Security and Resilience. The project aims to foster technological innovation in the region by building a network of partners, including government ministries, local authorities, communications companies, and startups.

Minister of Communications Dr. Shlomo Karhi said the initiative will transform the Western Negev “from a frontline of confrontation to a frontline of innovation,” strengthening infrastructure, national resilience, and regional growth.
