Israeli Biotech Firm CollPlant Acquires Deep-Tech Company LightSolver
Israeli biotech firm CollPlant Biotechnologies has acquired deep-tech company LightSolver, marking its entry into photonic computing and high-performance.
Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — CollPlant Biotechnologies Ltd. has completed its acquisition of Israeli deep-tech company LightSolver, marking the Israeli company’s entry into photonic computing and high-performance computing.
LightSolver, founded by Weizmann Institute physicists Dr. Ruti Ben Shlomi and Dr. Chene Tradonsky, develops a Laser Processing Unit that uses coupled lasers to perform computationally intensive tasks while aiming to improve energy efficiency. The acquisition is expected to support LightSolver’s commercialization and expansion of strategic partnerships.
CollPlant said the new computing business will operate alongside its existing Israeli regenerative-medicine operations, which focus on plant-based recombinant human collagen for tissue repair, medical aesthetics and 3D bioprinting.
