Scandinavian Airlines Returns to Israel after Decade-Long Hiatus
Scandinavian Airlines will relaunch its direct route between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen on October 26, operating four weekly flights after a 10-year absence.
Jerusalem, 6 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) on Sunday announced the resumption of its direct route between Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and Copenhagen (CPH) starting October 26. SAS originally announced the route for late October 2025, and is now scaling up the service to four weekly flights.
SAS suspended its flights to Tel Aviv in 2016, citing low profitability amid high operating costs and intense competition. The airline also pointed to ongoing political instability in the region, which further undermined the route’s viability.
SAS will operate four weekly flights to Tel Aviv on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights, using Airbus A320neo aircraft with economy and business-class cabins. One-way fares will average about €400 ($464.56) and include a small under-seat bag, while larger carry-ons and checked luggage will cost extra.
