Jerusalem, 22 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli climate-tech company Brevel has partnered with Indian conglomerate The Wave Group to build a $10 million-$15 million biomanufacturing plant in northern India using Brevel’s light-based fermentation technology.
The 50/50 joint venture will establish a facility in Uttar Pradesh with a production capacity of 300,000 liters, up from 5,000 liters at Brevel’s existing commercial plant in Israel.
Construction is expected to begin later this year, with full-scale production scheduled to start within 18 months. The plant will initially produce chlorella, a type of microalgae used in food and nutritional supplements.
Brevel’s patented technology combines fermentation with light to help microorganisms produce valuable compounds. The facility will also use byproducts from Wave Group’s sugar mills as fermentation inputs, reducing waste and transportation costs.
