Subsequently, the commander of the Tel Aviv District issued closure orders for places where illegal gambling was conducted. The investigators revealed the identities of the three suspects, who allegedly managed the gambling dens for a long time, receiving profits of over ten million shekels from the criminal activity. The investigators of the Major Crimes Unit also uncovered several serious incidents of extortion by threats and force, during which the suspects threatened one of the dealers with murder, assaulted him, and demanded that he pay them one hundred thousand shekels. With the transition to an open investigation, investigators from the Vice Squad arrested the main suspect on 09.06.26, a resident of the area in his 30s. In the course of the investigation, two additional suspects were arrested, a couple residing in Jaffa in their 30s. As part of the joint investigation by the Tel Aviv Major Crimes Unit and the Tel Aviv Tax Authority’s Investigation Officer, investigators managed to gather evidence against the suspects for the serious offenses attributed to them, including tax offenses. Their detention was extended from time to time, and a few days ago, a prosecutor’s statement was filed against them in preparation for a serious indictment expected to be filed against them today.
