Israeli Forces Thwart Attempted Smuggling of 60 Kilograms of Drugs to Jordan
Israeli forces seized approximately 60 kilograms of drugs near the Jordanian border, arresting two suspects in a foiled smuggling operation.
Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Border Police and the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) thwarted an attempt to smuggle roughly 60 kilograms of narcotics, valued at millions of shekels, toward the Jordanian border near Maoz Haim, a kibbutz located in the Beit She’an Valley.
According to police, IDF surveillance units first identified the suspects, prompting a joint operation involving Border Police tactical units that located sacks of drugs at the scene. Two suspects from southern Israel were arrested near the Megiddo Junction after a vehicle pursuit.
Police said the operation is part of a broader pattern, with security forces seizing approximately 700 kilograms of narcotics along Israel’s eastern border in recent months.
