Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Under regulatory amendments enacted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI), aircraft maintenance technician (AMT) licenses will no longer expire or require biennial administrative renewal.

Instead, the framework transitions to a continuous recency model. Technicians must now verify and document at least six months of practical experience in their specific rating category within the preceding two-year period prior to signing off on aircraft airworthiness.

Concurrently, updated regulations for Approved Maintenance Organizations mandate that aviation maintenance facilities establish internal compliance procedures to verify employee qualification logs before assigning maintenance tasks, aligning Israeli civil aviation oversight with international continuous-competency standards.
