Jerusalem, 15 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A 21-year-old Palestinian man from Beit Sira was indicted on Thursday for attempting to steal a luxury car during a test drive near Route 443.
The suspect met the vehicle’s owner near the Maccabim checkpoint, posing as a wealthy buyer interested in purchasing the high-end automobile. After the two completed a joint test drive, the suspect seized an opportunity when the owner stepped out of the vehicle and quickly slipped into the driver’s seat and sped away toward Judea and Samaria.
Following an investigation by the Israel Police, authorities managed to track down the suspect and recover the luxury vehicle.
The police completed their investigation this week, leading prosecutors to officially file the indictment detailing charges of vehicle theft and impersonation.
