Jerusalem, 8 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A group of Israeli right-wing organizations urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Thursday to order the closure of France’s Consulate General In Jerusalem, following Israel’s decision to close Britain’s consulate and Expel 20 diplomats in retaliation for its ban on settlement products.

The groups, including the Sovereignty Movement, Regavim, My Israel, Ad Kan, Our Land, and the Kohelet Policy Forum, called on Netanyahu to apply the same standard to France. They cited France’s support for sanctions against Israel, investigations of French-Israeli citizens over alleged “genocide,” and President Emmanuel Macron’s recent attack on Israel at the United Nations.

The organizations also cited a Jerusalem Center for Applied Policy (JCAP) study alleging that the French consulate hosted a conference featuring a book portraying convicted Palestinian airplane hijacker Leila Khaled as an icon of Palestinian liberation.

Regavim accused the consulate of maintaining close ties with Palestinian officials linked to terrorism.
