Jerusalem, 31 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Water Authority Council unanimously approved increasing fresh water supplies to agriculture by up to 15% in 2026.The measure comes after severe drought and reduced allocations, with 308 requests for additional water totaling 35.8 million cubic meters submitted to the Agriculture Ministry. The national agricultural allocation fell from 380 million cubic meters in 2025 to 290 million in 2026.
