Jerusalem, 14 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir on Wednesday condemned violence against innocent people, declaring that such conduct does not reflect the Israeli spirit.

His remarks underscore the military’s responsibility to uphold its ethical standards and maintain discipline amid ongoing security challenges.

Zamir visited Central Command on Wednesday and spoke with troops alongside Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, Judea and Samaria Division commander Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, and commanders from the Shin Bet and Border Police in Judea and Samaria.

“During this sensitive period, we must maintain alertness and readiness on every front, preserve operational freedom, and rapidly thwart threats,” Zamir said. “We are pursuing and fighting terrorism everywhere. The IDF is highly prepared to launch extensive offensive operations against any party that attempts to harm Israeli civilians.”
