Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Esterina Tartman, a former Israel Beitenu Knesset member who served from 2006 to 2009, has died at 68. Tartman, a Jerusalem native, served in the Israel Defense Forces and reached the rank of major before entering politics. She was elected to the Knesset in 2006 and later served as Yisrael Beytenu’s parliamentary faction chair.

In 2007, Tartman was nominated for tourism minister but withdrew after discrepancies were reported in her resume regarding her academic qualifications.
