Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yashar! party, sharply criticized bloc partners Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Liberman after they attacked his campaign, accusing them of hurting the bloc’s chances of winning.
In a Thursday radio interview, Eisenkot said both men misunderstand the bloc and dismissed their refusal to establish rules for selecting a prime ministerial candidate. He said he has worked around the clock to organize the bloc and rejected the idea of negotiating behind closed doors after the election.
“That’s old politics,” Eisenkot said, arguing that voters should determine who leads the next government.
“Whoever is banking on heading a government with eight mandates doesn’t understand what happened in Israel,” he said, referring to Bennett’s formation of a government five years ago after his party had won six seats.
Eisenkot also ruled out a rotation agreement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
