Civil Administration Demolishes Palestinian Structures Threatening Route 465, the Trans-Binyamin Highway
The Civil Administration demolished Palestinian structures threatening Route 465, the Trans-Binyamin Highway, in the Binyamin region under Minister Smotrich's.
Jerusalem, 31 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Civil Administration’s Supervision Unit, operating under Minister Bezalel Smotrich, demolished Palestinian structures spanning approximately 600 square meters in the Binyamin region – the area to the north of Jerusalem – that posed a threat to Route 465, the Trans-Binyamin Highway, a road approved for widening a month ago.
Four strategic buildings were demolished in Binyamin (Benjamin), while in Samaria, two additional buildings measuring approximately 400-500 square meters near the community of Har Bracha were also demolished.
The demolitions come amid a dramatic increase in enforcement and demolition rates targeting illegal Palestinian construction in Judea and Samaria in recent years, under Smotrich’s policy at the Defense Ministry. Within five years, the number of demolished illegal structures doubled, reaching a peak of 536 buildings demolished in the first half of 2026.
