Northern Israel Residents Warned of Loud Explosions Ahead of Lebanon Strikes
Northern Israel communities, including Kiryat Shmona, are alerted to expected loud explosions from Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon following Hezbollah violations.
Jerusalem, 8 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli authorities issued an advisory warning residents of Kiryat Shmona and surrounding Galilee communities that the Israeli military is expected to carry out a wave of airstrikes inside Lebanese territory within the hour, and that residents may hear loud explosions as a result.
Officials said routine daily activities should continue and no special safety measures are currently required for the public, though updates would follow if the situation changes.
Authorities said that should there be any development or change in the operational status, immediate public updates will follow.
The alert comes amid continued Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon, where strikes in recent days have targeted Hezbollah positions following the group’s violations of a ceasefire agreement reached with Israel earlier this year.
