Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) struck in the Deir al-Balah area in Gaza on Saturday, eliminating Sharif al-Hasanat, a Company Commander in the Deir al-Balah Battalion of Hamas.

Throughout the war, said the IDF, al-Hasanat took part in leading efforts to restore Hamas’s underground infrastructure. More recently, the military said, he continued advancing terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, posing an immediate threat that led to his elimination.
