Jerusalem, 9 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF killed three terrorists from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, the military announced.
The dead included Hussam Walid Hassan Abu al-Ata, a commander in PIJ’s rocket unit, and Majdi Muin Yusuf al-Ayubi, a member of the group’s military wing, both killed in Gaza City. Muhammad Aja, a company commander in Hamas’s military wing, was killed in the al-Furqan area.
According to the IDF, the three had recently advanced terrorist plots against Israeli forces and worked to restore their organizations’ military capabilities. The military said their activities constituted systematic violations of the ceasefire agreement.
All three were killed in aerial strikes. The operations underscore Israel’s continuing efforts to counter threats against its troops and prevent Hamas and PIJ from rebuilding their operational capabilities in Gaza.
