4,000 of 6,000 October 7 Terrorists Eliminated, Military Intelligence Chief Tells Cabinet
IDF Military Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder stated that 4,000 of the 6,000 terrorists from the October 7 attack have been eliminated.
Jerusalem, 5 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — IDF Military Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder told the Security Cabinet on Sunday that approximately 4,000 of the 6,000 terrorists who infiltrated Israel from Gaza during the October 7, 2023 massacre have been eliminated.
The figures, presented three years after the attack, indicate that roughly 2,000 participants in the invasion remain classified as active targets, with Israeli intelligence and security forces continuing efforts to locate them across the Gaza Strip.
Binder said the pursuit extends beyond senior commanders to lower-level operatives who participated in the infiltration, killings and looting of Israeli communities.
The cabinet was also briefed on increased Hamas preparations to resume fighting. Shin Bet chief David Zini warned that Hamas may be seeking to carry out a complex attack or kidnapping attempt around the upcoming Israeli elections.
