Jerusalem, 5 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — SOUTHERN ISRAEL — Israeli Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tishler visited the 947th Iron Dome Battalion’s “Johnny” battery on Monday, honoring troops who defended the region during the October 7, 2023 attacks.

Addressing operators, Tishler commemorated Capt. Sahar Sa’adian, Sgt. Nativ Kutzro, and Sgt. Binyamin Gabriel Yona, who were killed while resupplying launchers under fire.

“We will never forget what happened—both the failure and the heroism,” Tishler stated, noting the array intercepted hundreds of rockets initially and thousands since from Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to defense, stating their mandate remains protecting the homeland while honoring the fallen.
