Jerusalem, 5 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli soldiers detained two suspects riding a motorcycle toward a military post in the security zone in Southern Syria, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday.
The suspects were identified approaching the post, prompting troops to initiate a suspect-arrest procedure that included opening fire, according to the IDF.
Both suspects were apprehended, and no Israeli soldiers were injured.
The IDF said it would continue operating in the security zone in southern Syria and “neutralize any threat” to Israeli Civilians and military personnel.
