Arab Commander Leads Elite Israeli Infantry Regiment in Southern Lebanon

Jerusalem, 30 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Beaufort Ridge — Israel’s elite Golani Infantry Brigade has concluded a seven-month deployment in Southern Lebanon, led by Arab-Druze commander Colonel Ayoub Kayouf.
Operating along the Beaufort Ridge and Litani River, the unit destroyed over 900 Hezbollah targets, seizing stockpiles of RPGs, explosive drones, and assault rifles before rotating out for rest. Addressing troops at an operational conclusion ceremony, Kayouf declared, “In Golani we always win, never return without fulfilling the mission.”
Military officials confirmed the strikes succeeded in removing immediate threats, safeguarding civilian routines across northern Israeli communities.
