Palestinian Woman Fabricated Arson Claim, Faces Indictment for Incitement, Police Say
A Palestinian woman in Judea and Samaria admitted to fabricating an arson claim against Israelis, now facing incitement charges for spreading false narrative.
Jerusalem, 25 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A Palestinian woman who claimed that Israelis living in Judea and Samaria set fire to her home last Thursday recanted her story, telling investigators, “I had a dream, and then I took revenge,” according to police. She now faces charges including incitement after spreading the false narrative through international media.
Officers from the Hebron Station in the Judea Division were dispatched last Thursday to the vicinity of Beit Ummar following a fire at a Palestinian home, whose residents claimed a Molotov cocktail was thrown inside while they slept.
However, initial findings by a Fire and Rescue Services investigator and Judea and Samaria District police forensics officers determined the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, with no evidence of arson found.
