Joint Statement from theand the Shin Bet Spokesperson: Full Circle: The Commander of the Northern Gaza Strip Brigade, who was eliminated, commanded the holding of Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity. Following prolonged intelligence investigation, the IDF and Shin Bet are now revealing that the commander of the Northern Gaza Strip Brigade in Hamas’s military wing, the terrorist Izz al-Din Bik, who was eliminated this week (Tuesday) in the Gaza Strip, commanded the holding of Israeli hostages during the war. Before being appointed commander of the Northern Brigade during the ‘Swords of Iron’ war, al-Din Bik held a series of positions, including commander of the West Jabalia battalion, and commander of the military intelligence headquarters in the Northern Brigade. In his roles, he promoted and funded numerous attacks against Israeli civilians and was one of the founders of the Nukhba force in the northern Gaza Strip. Additionally, the terrorist commanded and participated in the raid into Israeli territory on the morning of October 7th. Throughout the war and by virtue of his role as responsible for the northern Gaza Strip area, Izz al-Din Bik commanded the holding of many hostages in Hamas captivity, including Mia Shem, Hisham Assaid, Amit Buskila (may she be remembered), Uriel Baruch (may he be remembered), Cpl. Nik Beizer (may he rest in peace), Sgt. Ron Sherman (may he rest in peace), Elia Toledano (may he rest in peace), Shani Luk (may she be remembered), Michel Nisenbaum (may she be remembered), S/Sgt. Tamir Nimrodi (may he rest in peace), Yitzhak Gelerenter (may he rest in peace), Eitan Levy (may he rest in peace), Hanan Yablonka (may he rest in peace), Ron Benjamin (may he rest in peace), and Orion Hernandez (may he rest in peace). The elimination of the terrorist Izz al-Din Bik constitutes an important full circle for the IDF and Shin Bet, who will continue to operate forcefully against the terrorists who took part in the October 7th massacre. The IDF will continue to operate to defend the citizens of the State of Israel and to remove threats posed by the Hamas terror organization.
