Joint statement from theand the Shin Bet Spokesperson: Tens of weapons and ammunition were stored inside mosques: The IDF and Shin Bet destroyed two weapons storage facilities in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF and Shin Bet recently conducted a targeted strike in the Shati and Deir al-Balah areas of the Gaza Strip, destroying two weapons storage facilities belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization, which contained tens of Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, and additional military equipment. The weapons were stored inside two mosques in the northern Gaza Strip, which were actually used as cover for Hamas terrorists. Prior to the strikes, advance warnings were issued to the population to minimize the chance of harm to them, in addition to the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. This is another example of Hamas’s systematic use of civilian infrastructure, including mosques, in violation of international law, and for the purpose of promoting and executing terror attacks against IDF forces operating in the area of the “Green Line” and Israeli civilians. IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.
