The IDF reveals an internal Hamas document, which describes that the terrorist organization planned to plant explosive devices in the areas of displacement camps in the Gaza Strip, as part of preparations to protect the organization’s leadership and its operatives and to evacuate them from areas where the IDF is expected to operate, while risking and exploiting the lives of the civilian population in the area, despite knowing that these actions could significantly harm civilians.
The document, written in April 2024 and now revealed for the first time, reveals that Hamas’s engineering department proposed planting explosive devices around the displacement camps and detonating them when IDF forces approached, endangering the civilian population in the camps, in order to create panic as a smokescreen for the escape of its operatives.
Hamas proposed in the document another method of planting devices on paths and routes that are used or may be used by residents of the Gaza Strip, as part of an attempt to delay the advance of IDF forces in the area. It was also proposed to fire sonic bombs in the camps to create chaos and panic, in order to allow Hamas operatives hiding in the area to escape.
This is further evidence that Hamas is willing to risk the lives of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip to advance its terrorist activities.
